Jan Lust started his music formation at the music school of Oudenaarde. Subsequently he studied piano at the "Lemmensinstituut" in Leuven (Louvain) with Alan Weiss and obtained
a Master Degree as well as the Superior Diploma for piano.
At the same time he obtained a Master Degree in chamber music and studied lied accompaniment with Werner Van Mechelen.
Afterwards, during one year, he studied in scholarship at the Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv (Israel) with Viktor Derevianko. At masterclasses home and abroad he studied with E. Picht-Axenfeld, M. Perahia and A. Lubimov.
As a soloist and chamber musician and as an accompanist he performed in Belgium, Holland, Germany, Switserland, Austria, France, Israel, Lituania and Nigeria.
Besides his work with Grupetto, he plays with the brass quintet High Five, the traverso player Sarie Lust and soprano An Jansens.
He teaches piano at the music schools of Zottegem and Oosterzele.
